Opera Crasher #327061

Widget HTML files dragged into the Opera window cause a crash if the associated config.xml is corrupted

Fixed in Opera 9.51

New in Opera 9.5, if you drag an HTML file from a folder also containing a config.xml, Opera will attempt to interpret the HTML file as a widget. This is a good behaviour, especially for widget developers while building widgets.

In the case that the config.xml is corrupt and does not contain any XML, Opera crashes.

Copy the following text and paste it into a file on your desktop named "index.html":

    <title>Opera crash</title>
    Opera go boom!

Create an empty file in the same directory named "config.xml", then drag the HTML file into the Opera window. Opera crashes.
